AVSTTR recently organised a residential training course to teach CDA2, the CACDP Level 2 Deaf and Deafblind Awareness training which is the first part of the new qualification. The course was designed primarily for Reporters who were not yet CACDP Registered. The course took place between Thursday 28th February 2008 and Monday 3rd March in King's Cross, London. Thanks you to all the people who took part and made the whole experience worthwhile.

AVSTTR are hoping to be able to offer the Level 3 courses later in the year.

It's great news that formal policy has now been adopted so that only the use of Registered CACDP Speech-to-Text reporters as Communication Support in legal settings is permissible. We feel that this is a real breakthrough and just the beginning of the road to formal reguluation in all areas. The full report is available on our Archive page.
